chalk paint on fabric - has anyone tried it?

Looked at videos online and not convinced that it will really work. What is the texture like, does it go all plasticy or does it still feel like fabric?

Not tried it but watching with interest! I've heard that if you paint it then wax it it looks almost like leather? I can't quite believe this is the case though!
