I have to sofas that I love but their covers have reached the end of their life and they badly need replacing. We are a bit skint due to moving into a new house next week and we really cannot afford the prices being charged by upholsterers. I have a sewing machine and basic sewing skills (I have made my own curtains). Would I be nuts to attempt to make my own slip covers or should we just pay an upholsterer?
