Who's bought a new bed lately?

We can't get hold of our dream bed. We just cancelled our order as they kept putting back the delivery date and they've had our money for ages. Thought we'd be able to source it elsewhere but not been able to find it online. Sad

So please can I have some recommendations of decent bed companies and also your own dream beds for inspiration?

Also, I hope this is the right topic, I couldn't see a home furnishings one. Could this one cover both maybe?

ikea
range of sizes (continental or uk) and you can take it home straight away.

I actually 'won' a bed in a mn survey thing. It would have been expensive to buy and came from Slumberland. I have to say that the bed is fantastic. Very comfortable and the customer service was excellent. It was a double divan Serene. Love it

DandelionAndBedrock · 24/02/2017 21:42

What style was the one you liked?

I have a John Lewis fabric/upholstered one which I love, but obviously no good if you want a wooden one.

We have recently bought a new bed and mattress from Warren Evans. brilliant quality and they assemble it for you. Previously got ds2's bed from there as well.

I've just bought a Bensons for Beds Henley. Looks gorgeous in my new Cottage, two tone (natural oak at the top of the headboard, painted cream slats if that makes sense!). Assembled it myself which I'm very proud of, took my time and read the instructions). Will know in 12 hours how comfy it is!

hellooooooomama · 24/02/2017 21:48

Yes! We want fabric. This is the one we wanted: www.time4sleep.co.uk/bella-mink-upholstered-bed-frame?gclid=CMjricCwqNECFUEaGwodtrgJCA

We've seen the same style elsewhere but only with crocodile print fabric which we DON'T want.

Wombat, you lucky thing!

This is ours. Similar, but DP likes to poke his feet off the end Hmm. We paid £30 for assembly and it was the best £30 I think we have ever spent.

Now got our eyes on this one, completely different but also nice. www.mybedframes.co.uk/hazel-plum?gclid=CPLu7qbuqdICFcsp0wodABgF1g

Gone off the other one now it's caused so much hassle. We've got a mattress arriving next week and no bed to put it on!!

I think they do similar styles in Next but they can take ages too. Have you tried Wayfair, Argos or Tesco? I think they are often able to deliver quite soon.

We upgraded to a Silentnight Mirapocket Premium Divan when we moved recently and we luffs it Smile

Added a £50 grey headboard from Amazon and it looks great in the new bedroom.

When looking we also loved Warren Evans' offerings but they only delivered to our neck of the woods in the South West once a month at most. If you're in the South East or are happy to wait for delivery, then I'd try there also.

Welshmaenad · 26/02/2017 12:20

I've just acquired my mum and dad's bed, it's a hideously expensive Tempur one covered sort of taupey moleskin fabric, I absolutely love it.

However I hugely recommend Sleepland Beds online for excellent pricing and service.

OdinsLoveChild · 26/02/2017 12:28

I've just bought one from Cotswold Company. Its lovely but its oak and not fabric like the ones you have posted not helpful sorry

hellooooooomama · 27/02/2017 11:34

Thanks all. We've ordered the new one so fingers crossed! Lots of companies are selling it so we've scoured the online reviews and gone for what we think is the best one. Fingers crossed!

We went to Warren Evans.... went for a wooden frame after having divan for 20 years! Got gorgeous bed, mattress and bedside tables... and all on 12 month interest free which was great.

We've just taken delivery of Feather and Black's Annecy with Bronte mattress. We chose a 6 tension mattress - they had those in stock and it's a popular tension. They also had other more modern, less French styles of beds too.
