Thanks everyone! It was very satisfying seeing the difference so quickly.
We got our dining table and chairs second hand and there were two of the leather look chairs, they're not really my cup of tea but the brown was inoffensive so I've lived with it for 6 months. Anyway, got the staple gun this week and I already had the fabric so it was a very easy and cheap makeover!

Looks really good. Was thinking of doing this myself. Can I ask if you remove the previous covering, or just put it on top?

I didn't this time, I just covered straight over. But I probably would have taken it all off if the old fabric wasn't waterproof.
