New bedroom shortly... it's a cosy dark colour, but we want to have sumptuous bed sheets.

What thread count do I need to get hotel level puffy-when-you-flap-it duvetness?

We have a superking because I'm a starfish so John Lewis? The White Company? HOF?

I'm no expert but I just bought some good value stuff from TK Maxx - 600 thread count sheets and they fit the mattress a lot better than some.

I like 600 minimum. Ideally 800. White only. Soak and sleep.

I'm a sucker for the white company - but I ask the housekeeper to iron them they do need ironing ! Soz !

The only annoying thing about the soak and sleep ones is that the duvets close with stupid dangly ties rather than tidy buttons and buttonholes. I prefer buttons but resent paying TWC prices for high TC bedlinen in SK sizes.
