Desperately seeking kitchen wall colour inspiration

Hoping someone with any eye for colour will be able to help! Kitchen/diner is large but south facing so doesn't get a lot of natural day light. Cupboards are light oak coloured and don't really want to change them at the moment. Floor is cream tiles, kitchen area walls are cream tiles and the rest of the walls including the dining area is again cream. It is possibly the most uninspiring room in the whole house and I'm at a loss as to what colour to inject a bit of life or cosyness to it. The rest of the house is pretty much sorted. I'm looking for help to decide on possible new colour for the walls in the dining area...maybe something along the lines of a pale grey/blue? What do you all think? TIA

We had a very similar colour scheme in our last house and went with a muted and very light green, so that it looked fresh but also calming and went well with the oak and cream. I can't tell you the fancy name it had as can't remember.

Thanks for the suggestion boobs. Think might be best heading to get tester pots tomorrow and see what looks best actually in the room.

If it's south facing how come it doesn't get much daylight? How about a darker inky blue, might be nice with cream

Sorry my mistake, it's north not south. Probably too dark a room naturally for a dark wall colour but equally I'm fed up with it just being blah.

Maybe a duck egg then or China blue? Or buttercup or olive green? I wouldn't go too pastel.

I spent weeks deciding and spent far too much money on tester pots than DP knows about I wanted a pale grey blue for the bathroom.
We used farrow and ball parma grey. It's beautiful and actually not grey at all more blue.

Yes I agree I definitely don't want to go down the pastel route

What about lime green? It goes well with lots of wood colours.

Sounds similar to ours - ours is fuscia pink!

Mines sage green. Its a nice warm colour really and not cold like some greens can be.

I used to have 'buttermilk' I think or maybe it was 'primrose'. It was a pale buttery cream colour. It always looked bright and warm even on really dull rainy days but DH thought it looked dirty white so we went for the green over the top.

Pink would be good but can't see dh agreeing to that! He already complains about the many cushions and throws everywhere else 😄

My DH didn't agree to pink, he agreed to whatever I wanted whilst he was watching the Tour de France!
