Where to find nice quality modern kitchen dresser or similar...??

DH and I have been looking for some sort of kitchen dresser / sideboard with top / large display cabinet for ages but can't find one which isn't a) rubbish quality b) shabby chic or c) v old fashioned. I'd like something in unpainted wood but open to options.

When can you get nice quality modern furniture? There's nothing in M&S or John Lewis, reviews of Oak Furniture Land and Laura Ashley are awful, and I'm dubious of buying something from an internet only retailer where we can't see the furniture beforehand.

Any suggestions? We are in SW London / Surrey.

I'm always moaning that all furniture seems to have gone online. So little opportunity to actually see stuff 'in the flesh' .

Thanks Joinourclub that looks nice - do you know much about TR Hayes?

It's really difficult when you can't actually see the furniture, it's hardly like it's easy to send back if you don't like it once it arrives!

Neptune (expensive) or something like these ones?

Thanks stars - I'd not heard of Neptune (although you're right - not cheap!). The other one is a bit more rustic than we were thinking but potentially they could customize something.

Any other ideas?

The Kitchen Dresser Company?

Zoozoo101 · 28/09/2017 17:54

This is prob an old thread but I'm also on the hunt for a kitchen dresser and keep going back to The Kitchen Dresser Company - has anyone used them? The Cotswold Co also look ok but the reviews are so mixed, not sure it's worth the hassle..... any recommendations would be appreciated. Neptune a little bit too far off our budget...... tia

Also, anyone heard of the Painted furniture co in Cirencester?

There's a Painted Furniture Company branch in London/Surrey now in Hampton Wick (over Kingston Bridge from Kingston, turn right at the roundabout and head towards Teddington). Might be worth at least taking a look if they're local to you...

Thanks kittenears - Cirencester slightly nearer than London. Will keep trying to see if I can find reviews of kitchen dresser co....

I have bought a lot of furniture from the Cotswold Company and found them fine. I would buy from them again.

Thanks EmmaC78 - have some samples from them so will keep looking. Useful to hear positive things - it's always the negative reviews that get more publicity.
