Butt-ugly radiator really is spoiling kitchen

Dear mumsnet,

We finally did up our kitchen two years ago (classy shaker style - doesn't look clinical) but kept the butt-ugly radiator which I now regret.

All 76 inches of it plus holes in beautiful floorboards....

Any advice on replacing it with a beautiful radiator you can rest your bottom on would be appreciated. Old schoolroom style would be fab.

It faces a beautiful view and everyone likes to perch on it so I don't want to replace it other than with another radiator/warm perch.

They come in a variety of shapes and sizes / height / depth etc. We have a mixture of tall column versions and more traditional low rectangular ones. I was in fact caught hugging a tall one last night I was so cold when I got in from work.

They really seem to kick out heat too - very pleased with them and came recommended by a structural engineer friend of ours.

I think radiator covers block heat - there was a thread on here some time ago where the argument got quite spiky about the science of radiator covers - all I know is that my hall looks very nice now with a radiator cover but is much cooler.

We bought radiators from here. This was 10 years ago, but they seemed very reasonably priced compared to others when we were looking.
