Bathroom 12x12 will have large free standing bath and shower enclosure. I have no idea what tiles to choose. DH wants natural stone as he says it won't date. (But I've just checked MN threads that say it was out 10yrs ago).

Builder thinks tiled floor will be better for our bathroom....Victorian property.

Any ideas will be appreciated! Have never chosen a bathroom before....won't be changing it for many years so need something that'll be ok for a long while...

Hi there,

The problem with natural stone is that you need to seal it and maintain it. You need to love natural stone for what it is and be prepared to look after it.

If you like the look of stone there are many good copies out there now in both matt and gloss finishes. Greys and beige are on trend atm. Have a look at Madagascar by Porcelanosa and HD Origin by BCT.

You mentioned your property is Victorian. Are you running with this as a theme? If so Black and White tiles would give you that classic look.

Personally I agree with your builder and think that a tiled floor would be best for you. Vinyl looks cheap.

Have you chosen your suite yet? The tiles should complement it.

At the end of the day its all about personal taste. Look at the stone ceramic tiles or black and white for something that will still look good in 10yrs time.

Sorry for the long post but hope this helps. If you want some more advice just give me a shout!

Thank you Cory Dunford! I will start with Porcelanosa and BCT now.
