How much would you expect to pay a decorator to paint a bedroom, quite fiddly job with lots of prep/making good and lots of woodwork, as well as ceiling, walls, windows etc? Thanks.

We did this a while ago, and it worked out to about £500 a room. There was lots of ripping out old fitted furniture included in that though.

I think painter prices vary so much. Our painter painted our 2 bedroom new build flat so not huge but decent enough & it was 4 days, £450. It was 2 bedrooms, livingroom, kitchen, hall & bathroom skirting, doorframes & ceilings. He starts around 6am & works until 4/5, has a short lunch & schedules everything so he is always working. However our friend has paid her decorator £1250 to paint her hall but he has taken 10 days because he has sanded all the walls despite them being newly plastered 2 years ago, arrives around 10, takes a 4 hour lunch & leaves at 6.

I think overall it tends to be £100-/+ a day & it depends how efficient your painter is & how hard he works.

I'd expect to pay £150 a day.

I'd expect around £100 to £150 per day.
