Ohhh bump! I'd be keen to know this too.

Don't know if it would work but we have like a porch/vestibule thing. We laid down the industrial floor coverings that shops etc use, that roughish stuff for feet/paws to clean on before entering the house. Works well

Turtle mats are very absorbent. They are also machine washable. I don't have pets, but they are great for wiping your feet on after being in the garden etc.

Dunelm sells a much cheaper version of Turtle mats. They're just plain or striped, but just as absorbent. I'll see if I can find a link.

I second turtle doormats. When we had our Amtico floor fitted in the kitchen, the fitter recommended them. They are quite pricey but do a great job. Also go in the washing machine well.

Ooh yes please to links!

Thanks Shatners

Are they super absorbent? They don't look it.

ShatnersBassoon · 25/09/2016 20:57

Yes, they're cotton.

Turtle mats, I've never found any other mat as good. I get them from Amazon.

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/09/2016 21:14

My turtle mats are rubbish. Ok for humans but not for cats.

The lost absorbent mat I've ever used was a cheap cotton bath mat under the cat flap. It needed washing almost daily but it was great at stopping mud being tracked into the house!

Amazed that HugRugs haven't been mentioned yet. They seem more modern than turtle mats and are great! www.hugrug.co.uk/
