Best places to buy a bed

Looking at buying a new double bed. Im swaying towards an ottoman style bed for storage. But the ones I tried in Dreams were very heavy and awkward to lift.

Also are divans more fashionable than they were?! There was a lot more fabric bed frames in store as opposed to wood/metal beds.

We have seen, and decided against, the IKEA Hemnes double bed, it is of course perfectly lovely and a good price. But so ubiquitous, and I'm so tired of having so much IKEA furniture in my house!

Any bed advice/tips/bargains welcomed!

Thankyou both for the tips. I will look at both and hope there's a bit of a sale on too, I do like a bargain! Definitely thinking I'll go for a divan bed with fitted drawers or ottoman as it will stop the accumulation of visible junk under the bed

We bought a divan recently from M&S in one of their sales, and teamed it with the Beaumont mattress from Laura Ashley (again, I think the mattresses were all 70% off). It is the best money we have ever spent on a household item.
