Ugly blinds

I have recently moved and my house has these blinds in the sitting room. As I can't afford to rip them down and replace them with something gorgeous and pretty, does anyone have any ideas of making them look less office-like? I have ribbons, twine, hessian, sequins, and lots of other crafty bits and bobs. I like shabby chic and any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!

Hi! I like shabby chick too and sounds like you have lots of cool stuff to work with! One problem decorating your blinds with it - you'll end up with real dust traps...
Dont know what kind of decor you have in your living room - colors/style - but if that was mine I would paint a city skyline on the blinds, just an outline, in black. Realistic or cartoon-ish. On the plus side: it would look good on the blinds whether closed, partially closed or open 😃
