Light grey paint

So I want a light grey paint, one that is actually grey based not a light beige/cream/blue. Kind of half-way between Dulux chic shadow and white - does something like that exist?!

Dulux Polished Pebble is lighter than Dulux Chic Shadow and is actually grey based not a light beige/cream/blue.

Dulux Egyptian cotton comes up as a light grey in our house.

In my living room I have just walnut which looks like a very pale grey with a touch of lilac and one wall is pressed thistle which is a beautiful colour (and possibly why the just walnut has a lilac tone). I'm about to paint the hallway and stairs in polished pebble. I like grey, a lot Grin

F&B Strong White.
If your skirting etc. is a 'brilliant' white, then strong white looks very light grey (but definitely grey, contrasting nicely against the white).

If your skirting etc. is a darker shade of white, then strong white tends to look less grey, and more white.
Hope this makes sense!

Laura Ashley pale dove grey. I wish I'd gone for the dove grey but I was scared. It's a beautiful soft grey. It's almost difficult to tell it's a grey in the early morning it's so light, and by later in the day it's darker (as shown in pic).

We've just used B&Q Colours in Grey Hints in our en-suite. Very pale and fresh looking during the day but looks cosy at night.

Slate 1 by Paint and Paper Library is a very gentle grey/white. We have it in our bedroom and it's lovely. It's expensive but Matt and covers well.

Shallows or Inox from the Little Greene Greys collection.

I would agree with Strong White by F&B, and also have a look at Paint & Paper Library (though not Slate - in our house, Slate is more of a bone colour than grey) and Little Greene (but not French Grey - in our house it comes out bluey in south facing rooms- wonderful colour though). Sanderson Crystal Grey looks like a true very pale grey, but if you want something warmer look at Birch White or Grey Birch Light.

I too was going to recommend Farrow & Ball Ammonite. You may find even that to be too dark, in which case I would recommend "Strong White", which is also very nice!

Agree with polished pebble! We have this in our main bedroom as lighter alternative to chic shadow we have in 2 other bedrooms. Love them both.

If you find Farrow & Ball Cornforth White and Ammonite both too strong, then "Strong White" is a really lovely pale grey.

I have just finished painting our sitting room in Cameo Silk 1 (Dulux). In bright daylight it is a calm off white. In the evening, it is a lovely soft, creamy grey. Late afternoon, it takes on a slightly greenish/yellow hue but still greyed out. I got the flat matt finish. It goes well with oak. Really like it.

We are doing Goose down in the kids room and the tester is nice evening and light with a slight silvery feel to it.

If white with a hint of grey is what you're after, maybe try something like Dulux White Mist?

Engraved locket is proper grey. No beige/green/blue/purplesness.
I tried many samples, it's a perfect grey.

Another vote for Farrow and Ball Ammonite. I was very nervous about the grey being too dark. I am really pleased how our family area has come out with it.

F&B Strong White is really lovely, but only looks grey if you have white against it. It is very pretty - not warm or cold, a real neutral.

F&B Ammonite is a bit darker, also very nice.

Dulux Dusted Moss comes in different depths. It looks very brown going on but dries to a silvery grey with blue/green hints.

Little Greene Pearl Colour is lovely - again, comes in different strengths. Quite green-toned.
