Ektorp ikea sofas ... Any good?

ilovenautical · 25/07/2016 23:10

I'm looking to buy 2 X 2 seater ektorp sofas from the ikea range.

I have a 8month old ds and a 6 year old dss so I need something durable, washable and comfy.

The price is at the top end of my budget so don't really want to go over.

Any feedback greatly appreciated Smile

I have 2 two seaters in my kitchen and love them. They're indestructible. Not the plushest sofas, but very comfy all the same. Do not go for the (cheapest) white covers, they'll break your heart and you'll end up buying different covers anyway.

I have a 3 seater. It's fine, not the comfiest in the world but seems durable. I got cream covers and would advise against it, however I have recently washed crayon out of it and it turned out well.

You can shove the covers in the washing machine so it's quite handy. They aren't the most comfortable ever but they're fine.

Love them.
Love the ability to change to covers.
Love being able to read sleep comfortably on them.
Yep, get them!

We have the two seater in our living room. It needs some breaking in but is very sturdy and its washable covers are great for an aging old cat who voms everywhere and a 3yo who, well, is a 3yo everywhere

Ours is second hand, was well used and still in reasonable condition. The light colored covers looked a bit grim, so I dyed them ( dylon tulip red) in the washing machine, and they look fab. Very comfy, long enough to stretch out on. And very sturdy - I have 3 strapping six foot sons, who are bad news for furniture ( hence I needed urgent cheap replacement for previous sofa) and it has withstood them!

I've had my dark grey 2 seater for a month now and I love it. I've got a 4 & 1 year old and it cleans well after they've attacked it.

We had some for years. They were great. One lives on with a new cover as a gaming sofa for teenagers. The other has now left us for ever. But did babies, and toddlers, and moving Smile.

ilovenautical, an Ektorp living room here: a three-seater settee, 2 armchairs and a footstool.
Just bought them a few weeks ago, in dark grey, and very pleased.
Excellent service, too: Ikea dealt with our in-store order efficiently, delivered the following day, a Saturday, and took away our old stuff.
