Gloss or matt?

Currently getting new internal doors and surrounds. I quite like the look of having matt White rather than gloss. Am I being ridiculous given that I have a toddler???

I think gloss is a bit old fashioned now. We have done eggshell and have a toddler and so far it's fine.

You could compromise with a satin finish?

I agree that gloss is 'out' for doors! There is much front door painting going on in my street at the moment and none of them are gloss.

DH is a decorator and he says Matt. Gloss is horrid. I always have matt and it does clean if you're careful.

Presumably you mean satinwood when you say matte? Just as easy to clean as gloss ime.

champagnetastelemonademoney · 27/07/2016 22:22

Is satinwood completely matte finish?

We have just finished ours in a satin and not white - it has a hint of grey in it. Came up really well

Does satin have a sheen?

We were going to egg shell but I loved the Satin we found. Much more forgiving with fingerprints too.

Ilikedogs · 27/07/2016 22:39

Satin does have a sheen. It goes matte - eggshell - satin - gloss.

We have a 2 year old and a dog and the eggshell finish hasn't been a problem.

I'll check out what we used. It has no Sheen. We have used on all internal doors and skirting etc.

scoop I'm assuming it's eggshell, but I'll be intrigued if it isn't. As far as I know, you can't get matte interior wood paint.
