Giant rugs needed

Hi moving in a few weeks and will have all stone flooring throughout ground floor until we can sort out made to measure rugs.
In the meantime I thought I might get some affordable giant rugs to tide us over so it's not stark and hard for the DC.
Can't find anything bigger than 3 metres by 2 metres - 4 metres by 3 metres would be much better fit.

Any ideas anyone ?
Thanks

I don't think even IKEA does them that big!

We have one from John Lewis which is pretty much 4m x 3m.
I'm not sure it's a great temporary solution as it was close to £1000.

If it's a really temporary thing I believe that you can get regular fitted carpet cut to your size and then bound at the edges.

Try rugseller.co.uk. They have lots of choice and sizes.

I was going to suggest that you buy some off cuts of carpet and get some non slip under may stuff and make do with that. Some of the cheap poly-what'sit carpets would be useful, you could even use some spray adhesive to stick the edges to the floor. You'd probably need that Lakeland sticky stuff remover afterwards, but I reckon it's far cheaper than buying a huge rug with a huge price tag!

Good luck-your new home sounds lovely!

We have a few rugs from modern rugs including a 4m X 3m one, www.modern-rugs.co.uk/?gclid=COTAiYLJkM4CFecy0wod3TwBMQ&gclsrc=aw.ds

Hope that helps.

Ebay does second hand Turkish/Persian rugs some of which are very large, I've had a few and they're very cheap for the size and generally in great condition. Atoz rugs is one seller I think but if you search you'll find lots.

Ooh loads of replies thank you ! I will look at them all - we are thinking we will get carpet bound long term - but I can't get exact measurements until we are in. ( grumpy vendors suddenly decided not to leave the existing rugs so we haven't actually measured up for this!)

It may be that I just have to leave it bare until we can sort it properly but will see if any of the huge rugs are affordable
Thanks all

We have stone floors through choice. I'd live with them for a bit to see if you like them. We only have rugs by the fireplace.
They're lovely & cool in the summer and are easy to clean.

JoJoSM2 · 05/08/2016 02:03

You could also put 2 rugs together instead of one.

Thanks for extra replies. The suggested websites really helped but have decided to wait until we are in to choose something as the size means it's not a cheap decision ! But I now know we can get something quite quickly.

Takingsooty I am loving the stone floors don't worry it's just we still have young DC who topple backwards off sofas so I need some sort of cushioning in the short term at least .
