Large tiles in small ensuite

My ensuite measures 2.7 x 1.5 m, including the shower recess. The tiles I really like are 60 x 60cm but I'm concerned that they will look too big/odd in such a small space. The tiles will cover the floor and the full height of the walls. Any thoughts on this please?

How many whole tiles will there be without the need the need to cut them to fit? I think that would be a reason to rethink. Accurately cutting large tiles without breakages could be tricky - especially if you are doing the tiling yourself.

Thanks for your reply Wowfudge. I haven't calculated how many tiles. It would basically be a rectangular floor, walls, window and door to tile around. I'm having it done by a professional tiler who has been recommended. The fitter starts next week so am under pressure to get the tiles sorted asap.

I never thought it would be so difficult to choose tiles. I'm after a pale-ish grey and have about 20 samples atm and those big ones are my favourite but not sure if their size, assuming laying them wasn't a problem, would look okay in such a small room.

We have large rectangular tiles in a small bathroom. I think they actually make the bathroom look bigger as less fussy and would recommend.

Thanks Flower. That's what I've heard as well. Are your tiles 60x30cm as that's the size I'd go for but the tiles I like are 60x60cm. Do you think tiles twice the size of yours would work too?

Big tiles need a much more 'square' wall so avoid if it's an old property. Maybe incorporate a wall mirror on one wall to make the space seem bigger? A local glazier can do it for you.

Mine are actually 50x 30 so not as big. I still think less fussy makes for more spacious.

The property is 14 years old so the walls are straight. I agree that fewer grout lines will give the impression of more space and I've seen mocked up small showroom bathrooms with the larger tiles and think it looks fine. Was just after your opinions. I have contacted the tiler to see if there will be a problem. Thank you all for your help.
