Is this roman blind wide enough?

Width of window recess is 118cm and roman blind is 120cm.

In my wisdom, I bought this blind from John Lewis and thought it wasn't wide enough/never got around to returning it. It has since sat in the spare room gathering dust. Need to do something with it...

Get rid or use it on the window?

Put it up and see how it looks.

Don't really want to drill holes in wall until I have the right blind.

Looking online, me thinks the width needs to be window width + 10 to 15cm.... So 128cm to 133cm. Gah!

I've made Roman blinds for years OP and always leave approx 1cm each side for clearance, so that when the blind is pulled up or let down it won't catch on the sides.
As long as the window glass and at least 1cm of the window wood/pvc frame is covered it should be ok.

Ah okay, thanks Sixties. Will get DH to put it up and see what it looks like.

Can it be trimmed down to recess into the window? Otherwise it will just about fit over the recess, but might look a bit mean - I tend to always spec them as at least 10cm wider each side for outside fit.

I think their blinds are often a bit narrower than stated in whcih case it should fit inside the recess which always looks better IMO.

I make them to fit as exactly as the frame will allow They sound perfect to me.
