Would any of you be so kind as to show me what your dining room looks like? I am starting with a completely blank canvas as have removed a very very ugly 1930s fireplace, lifted the carpet and stripped the walls. I just have no clue what I'm going to do and need some inspiration! Thanks in advance to anyone who shares.....

Watching with interest. I also need ideas. We are in the process of buying a Victorian cottage. The dining room is very small but it does have corner fireplace.

rainbrella · 01/07/2016 18:13

beautiful - all really well chosen bits, mcchicken.

Mcchickenbb41 · 01/07/2016 19:47

Ahh Thankyou everyone. That's really kind. The table cloth is from laura Ashley but Iv seen them a lot cheap in John Lewis next and dunelm. A good tip if you want one ( Kirsty from relocation quote ) you can use as many patterns as you want as long as you stick to three colours. Which was really handy advice when we did our hall stairs and landing

Scurryfunge hopefully there's more to come.....!

I don't want to out myself (one pictured above is gorgeous)

Ours had a grey tiled floor that looks like bleached wooden floor. A grey/lavendar sideboard and cream jug with blue hearts on.

Reclaimed brickwork. Copper light from habitat and one dark grey wall to show them off

Table is dark wood with cream chairs. Oilcloth is vintage floral.

Sofas have yellow and grey scatter cushions.

Mcchickenbb41 · 01/07/2016 21:01

That sounds lovely wobbly. The colours sound beautiful. I think you can have a lot off fun with a dining room ?! Perhaps experiment more than you would than any other room

wobblywonderwoman · 01/07/2016 21:07

I don't really plan things but buy things I like.

Have you a favourite cushion or piece of artwork op.

Habitat have lovely lights and next have cafe style lights (industrial looking) that you could work around

We have bought some old pieces- a singer sewing machine and old dresser and corner unit. Annie Sloaned them and they came up well

Ours was finished at Christmas. We had our kitchen cupboards repainted grey then went front there. I love bold colours and poppies so my choice was made.
