Repainting living room- ceiling or walls first?

I'm repainting he living room and have been prepping the walls, but just wondering whether i should paint the ceiling first? Also, should I sugar soap the ceiling too? It was last painted about 11 years ago. And what about the skirting boards, do I do them last? Many thanks for advice.

I usually do celing, walls, skirting. Just be careful cutting in.

Deffo ceiling first in case of drips on the wall

Ceiling first so you don't drip on freshly painted walls and skirting boards

Thanks guys that's a great response! Does skirting boards exactly same colour as ceiling (but in eggshell) usually work well?

I only ever do ceilings and skirting pure white so it works for me!! I have a thing about woodwork must be white.

Sand your skirting and any paintwork at least 34 hours before painting. It gives the dust time to settle and be wiped away.

That's a top tip MyLlamas, I remember dust flying around as I was painting last time, and it was annoying.
