fake fireplace in room with no chimney breast

Will this look ridiculous ie just floating in the middle of a really long wall?

If you think it would be ok, any inspiration greatly appreciated.

I'm not talking a functioning one, purely decorative, maybe with some baubles or fake coals / candles in the centre.

It is for a huge long room with literally no centre focus.

Personally I always find obviously fake fireplaces a bit odd.

I love fireplaces in a bedroom, even if it's not functioning. Just having one in there makes me instantly think 'cosy'

I think this can work really well you need a focal point that isn't the telly

We had a long room with no fireplace. I seriously considered faking a chimney breast (small one) with boarding and then wallpapering over it. I planned to use it as hidden storage - hidden shelves above the fireplace/small pretend fireplace gap using a hidden door - whole front above fire opening up using a push/release magnet type door release. I didn't want an actual fire but was thinking of putting candles in it. I just wanted a focal point and hidden storage.
We had it quite well thought out and planned but then we had to move so it never materialised.
