Mattress brands

We are about to get a new bed for DS, going to a double so it will last. Have found an ottoman base/headboard we like but stuck on mattresses.

Has anyone got any of the less well-known brands they can recommend? I'm looking for latex, or latex with pocket springs ideally. Have a fabulous John Ryan bed in another room but that's a bit out of budget this time...

Anyone used Latexsense? Or anything else they recommend? I'm focused on quality and comfort (soft-medium) rather than paying a premium for a big brand...
Thanks for any advice!

Me and my DH have had a Tempur mattress between us for years now, and I have no complaints :)

We have two Harrison pocket sprung/memory foam mattresses which are really good. But they may be a bit hard for you.
We got them from //www.mynextmattress.co.uk - you can choose by hardness on the website which is helpful.

We've had temper and liked it initially but DH got so hot that it would soften and we ended up hating it

Have an IKEA latex single mattress for the spare bed and I've spent many a comfy night on it avoiding the heat of DH!!

IKEA have a fantastic returns policy on mattresses that they don't seem to brag about

Our new king size is IKEA but natural fibres and thankfully much cooler!
