Multiyork vs Sofaworkshop

Hi everyone!
I have now given up on the idea of Laura Ashley sofas and instead tried on a Multiyork and Sofarworkshop sofas today. Both were good and I am slightly leaning towards Multiyork. Has anyone got a sofa from them and if so what is the quality like? thank you

I have a multiyork sofa L-shaped sofa and love it. It is in our conservatory. It's big and comfortable. Have I mentioned I love it.

The large footstool is not multiyork and was bought separately.

Thank you! it looks beautiful. the footstool is fab too. do you mind me asking how old is this? It looks great. So comfy. I wasn't going to spend so much, but it looks great. I wasn't impressed with Sofarworkshop that much.

I have two Imogen Multiyork sofas. They are 8 year's old. I believe the frames now have 15 year guarantees too. The covers and structure are doing very well.

We are 5 years into our sofa workshop sofas, and they are amazing. Hard wearing material, which is soft and comfortable. 2 extra large sofas have been spot cleaned a lot over the years and still look amazing. 1 snuggler had covers removed and washed due to grease stains and came up perfectly. Had resigned myself to a bit of fading but it didn't happen.
They are all in a v light room (2 French doors and velux) with no blinds / curtains and they are the same gorgeous navy they were on the day they were delivered - absolutely no sign of fading from the sun. We couldn't be more pleased.
We also have a 12 year old sofabed, and 2 gorgeous armchairs which are all still going strong.
Sofa workshop has definitely been a great choice for us!

We've just got rid of our multi York sofa after 12 years. It was so comfy.

We have had a new Multiyork sofa for a month. All good so far - the sofa was ready before the expected date but they were happy to hold on to it for us until the planned delivery date ( we were decorating so didn't want the sofa early).

I bought a multiyork Verona about 10 years ago-been used for 5 years in the living room rather than good room & still looks new, (apart from the bit the cat has clawed, grrr). Also bought a 2nd hand smaller grosvenor at that time & they recovered it, (they always make covers for any sofas Theyve made). I'd rather have a 2nd hand multiyork than other brands I've had, (m&s, habitat, ikea etc)

Have you looked At Willow and Hall ? Handmade in England .

I have a Sofa Workshop sofa - it is 18 years old so I am not sure my experience counts at this stage. Mine is a sofa bed and as a bed (not used often) it is really comfy still. As a sofa it is also comfy though the second set of loose covers were lost in a house move some years ago the remaining ones have weathered well. It has survived life with two dogs and two boisterous children. However it seems like the base of it has sunk somewhat (so say there was two inches under the sofa there's now only an inch - this doesn't really matter but I wonder if it's the result of normal wear and tear or the many house moves it has been through) It was £2,000 in 1998, and I think it has held up admirably. Having said all of that I would tend to be more respectful of it than it's neighbouring hand-me-down ancient sofa (which the children are allowed to bounce on).

Mine is 4 years old and imagine it will last a long time more from what others have said.

Multiyork here. Bought our sofa 16 years ago, still going strong and super comfy, very highly recommended!

Multiyork is generally reliable (but expensive).

Sofa Workshop is part of DFS (just different branding). Our new Sofa Workshop sofa arrives on Tuesday. We've previously had good experiences with Sofa Workshop.

Multiyork here too . Have three sofas here from them , one of which is about 15 years old and still looks great . Still as comfy as day one too . Also like the fact it's made in Norfolk !

That was one of the sofas I was looking at. Imogen is very comfortable.

guys. thank you so much. You have sold Multiyork to me! I also found a couple of ebay. I wonder if it is better to just get a new one (a bit expensive) or a used one. By the sound of things on this forum, it looks like they are very good quality!

If you can get one second hand in good condition I'd say do so! My 2nd hand one with new covers is really great :)

We were very lucky to have a family member working at multiyork when we bought our first house, and got our sitting room furniture at a very significant discount. We could never have afforded it otherwise.

It's now six years old and looks as good as new. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Incidentally, it is worth seeing if your local store has a discount area. We priced up one discount sofa which was a cancelled order - the cost of discounted sofa + new covers of our choice was about the same as the staff discount on a new order. We only decided against it because the sofa was too big for our space. Well worth investigating - and if you are anywhere near Suffolk then the outlet is also worth a look.

They have an outlet in Suffolk? Woah! I would love to check it out. I ended up buying a sofa from them from their discount area. They had a 2 seater ex display and it was perfect. Just the colour we wanted and it saved us over £1500!

Our multiyork sofa is about 12 yo now and in fab condition. It's cream and scotch guarded which means it's still cream despite 2 children, a massive pregnancy bleed on the seat and a cack handed husband who regularly splashes it with coffee. It's comfy still and doesn't look like it's as old as it is.
