Any chance painted kids bunk beds look good a year on?

I am wondering if I have the energy to paint the kids orange pine bunk beds a cool colour... But, do you think the paint job (if I sand down) will last long enough to make it worthwhile.

Depends what paint you use I suppose. Could you try chalk paint and let wear and tear create the naturally 'distressed' look?
