cost recovering a settee

anybody know average cost to recover a settee

I've never had a quote from a re-upholsterer that wasn't more than the sofa cost brand new.

So I have always just replaced the sofa. If it's a very expensive sofa to begin with I suppose it would be worth it but not for an average one.

Just had a quote for a large 2 seater & 2 armchairs £2400 -£3200 depending on the fabric.This includes changeing the 4 seat cushions. will probably have it done as I can't find a suitable replacement.

sofacoversjm.co.uk - I ordered covers from this website. We were given sofas for free that were looking very tired but structurally were fine, and I'm pleased with the result. I picked the two part covers. They're not perfect, but they look a lot better than a throw and are a lot cheaper than getting reupholstered. Perhaps as a solution while you save up for something more pricey.
