ceiling or wall curtain track

Have had such useful comments and ideas on my kitchen thread, I thought I would post my curtain track dilemma.

I have put IKEA pax wardrobes in an L shape across my bedroom to create a dressing area and instead of doors, just want to hang curtains across the opening into the dressing area.

Should I go for ceiling track or wall track? Wall track means one end of pole would go on wardrobe, other end on wall, leaving a gap at the top.

Ceiling track means I have to stop the track before it gets to the cornicing so curtain wouldn't be flush against the wall.

I wouldn't put curtains at all, they'll look unkempt and gather dust. Why not think about fitting Roman blinds to the top of each unit, don't go to the ceiling you'll block your spotlights and you'll lose light. Also if you leave a gap at the top up to the ceiling it'll trick your eye into thinking there's more space than there is by letting there be a continued sight line above and beyond the top of the units

I wasn't going to put curtains right against the wardrobes but at the end of the L-shaped run of robes where it creates an opening with the wall.

Finding this more difficult to describe.

The L-shape robes create a walk in dressing room effect so there is an entrance between end run of wardrobes with wall - that's where I'm thinking of putting curtains across

Ah I see, id get s carpenter in to ake folding screens then. If you have a fabric you love you could just have frames with the fabric sandwiched and stretched between them. That you give a really finished look, unless you want to go for a more romantic swag effect. I'll try and find a picture of something similar to what I'm talking about.

Shouldn't be any more expensive than getting curtains made and fitted if you get a decent carpenter. You could have a wooden frame showing on the out side, paint it, varnish it or fix the fabric on top of the frame so you couldn't see the frame. Lots of options. You could also play with the scale, and have lots of small sections or a few wider ones

I think the screens would be a neater option than curtains.

oh screen sounds gorgeous and might add a whole new decadent air.

Curtain runner sounds quite complicated, so maybe that's why you couldn't decide and needed an alternative solution?
