Depends what colour everything else is and what tone of blue on the walls. It could work or could look clashy and wishy-washy all at once.

If you cba to paint the walls could you change the curtains? Add the emeral green elsewhere (a rug, a lamp stand) as an accent colour to bring it together?

OTheHugeManatee · 06/03/2016 18:35

Oh and if your furniture is light wood I say don't go there. If it's white or dark wood it could work.

ggirl · 06/03/2016 18:43

hmm furniture is mix, mostly painted cream /white
the pain is little green starlings nest which looks like very pale blue

good idea , will get something in colour and test

sounds like the furniture wouldn't work with it tho

Pretty colour!

I think that could read as green with other green things in the room. My worry though would be one very bright item in an otherwise muted cream/light blue scheme. Not necessarily a problem but I think you'd def need accent colours elsewhere picking up the emerald as well for it to work.

The sofa sounds gorgeous. I would have thought pale blue would compliment emerald green? I agree a sofa fat colour would look best with dark wood though.

Oka have some fabulous dark green velvet studded dining chairs, mostly styled with dark wood, its vey on trend. I love the little green starlings nest, and I agree it could look greenish with green velvet.

food for thought ..thank you
I could add other similar accents in the room

perfect excuse for new cushions or fabric !

Need photos!

My friends got little greenes starlings egg and I think she could pull off an emerald sofa. The walls are a pale duck egg blue green colour rather then a true pale blue. I think the trick would be to have some accessories that tie in the starlings egg blue-green colour with the emerald. Cushions or a rug maybe with a wide variety of greens/blues

ToffeePenny · 06/03/2016 21:19

I think it would come out too green, perhaps a greyer/bluer shade and with a sheen to contrast the velvet. E.g.

Do it!

I think green and blue go perfectly together.

As some more green to the room like others have suggested, and make sure the furniture goes.

Go bold! So many houses are decorated so boringly.

OTheHugeManatee · 06/03/2016 21:53

The Habitat one would def work with walls that colour I think. I would be tempted to add scatter cushions on the sofa in a colour close to the walls, as well as some accents elsewhere in the same green as the sofa. An ochre yellow would pop nicely against those two colours as well.

OTheHugeManatee · 06/03/2016 21:55

These cushions could bring it together nicely

ggirl · 06/03/2016 22:04

pinned those cushions

love this colour combination

With the right cushions and a non green and non blue floor/ceiling
