Decorative film on windows anyone?

Having decides after posting on her not to put plantation shutters in my 1930s bay windows (too expensive as we are not planning to stay in this house long term) I'm considering window film just in the bottom sections of the panes in the bay windows. Anyone done this before? Hints/tips/advice gratefully received!

Yes, I have. Not in windows facing outside, but in bedroom doors that had windows above them - eurgh. The film looks good - makes it harder to see through, is easy to apply, and doesn't affect the amount of light getting in. I'd try it. Not expensive either.

That's what I thought - thanks - any tips on where to get it from?

We have some on a bedroom window that overlooks another house. I love it. We got it from Amazon and only cost £5. There are some really nice designs now.

Thanks both - I've seen some lovely designs so definitely going to buy!

I have some plain frosted on the lower half of my bedroom window as we're in a ground floor flat and the bedroom looks out to the back garden which is owned by the upstairs flat. We got it from eBay, was really easy to apply and just gives us a bit more privacy.
