As the title says

I'm moving into a one bed rented flat and the landlord will be redecorating throughout. In an effort to prevent it being painted magnolia I'd like to offer an alternative (and perhaps contribute to the cost of the paint). So I doubt I can have F&B or any other super pricey paint

It's not the lightest of flats.

I really hate bright pure white and magnolia and yellow tones, but quite like grey tones.

Grateful for any suggestions! TIA

But it was the 'we won't be able to match the colours' comment. Why would they need to? I can't imagine they'd paint one wall in a room only and need to match the other three.

I would prefer any other white!

We have also used dulux jasmine white over out entire house walls and ceilings. Works really well as we have cottage style/low ceilings and makes the rooms look bigger that way.

I like DH White which I think is a dulux colour, but we get it mixed in a johnstones paint which us cheaper. If you have a good paint shop who will mix paints they can often mix a F&B colour but in a dulux or johnstones base - so much cheaper.

I've never heard anyone saying they hate magnolia! As it's not your flat, unfortunately you don't really have a leg to stand on. I imagine many other rented places will be magnolia too.

I've recently painted a south-facing room in Dulux White Cotton. To me it looks like white with a hint of magnolia in, so probably not what you're after :-(

Might not be my property but it could be my home. And in terms of not having a leg to stand on, well I can either paint it whatever I want and return to magnolia if the lease allows, or pull out altogether and find another landlord.

I did my old house in Picket Fence from B&Q - it's lovely, slightly warmer than white without being too yellowy-cream.

I dislike magnolia due to the cold tone of the colour. It is the only paint that comes with a British standard though, which is annoying.

Have you looked at the white paint company - they only do different shades of white?
