Roman blinds and privacy

I really love Roman blinds but am concerned at the lack of privacy they may give... The house I'm moving to currently has a net/ vertical blinds. Would a Roman blind look ridiculous on the outside of the recess instead of curtains? I don't know why I love them so much but I'm trying to find a privacy solution which means I can have them. Any solution which leads to Roman blinds welcome. Blush

I have horizontal blinds with Roman blinds in the out side - they should be outside!!

I'm on Pinterest trying to find what they might look like with horizontal blinds but I agree on the outside part def!

I have have them in my sitting room but there's nothing with them for additional privacy. I've seen them done inside of curstains but nothing inside of them. Mine are recess fitted, I like them that way as I think it looks neater and like they've been made for the space rather than a spurious sized one whacked on the outside. I think putting anything inside them would spoil that neatness, which is their attraction for me. window nerd

I am siding with you on the neatness front squidgy.... I need to see a picture of what they might look like with the blind to be the decider... Can't find anything on Google/Pinterest!

Could you maybe frost the glass or have an ungathered voile panel at the window?

thecherryontop · 17/02/2016 20:01

I like the frosted glass idea squidgy-that could be the answer -will be using it for a porch area so should have thought of that but didn't! WineThanks

Voile Roman blinds let light in and can be lowered for privacy.
