what colour to paint fireplace

Advice and inspiration please

Living room is about to receive an overhaul.

Can't afford a new fire surround so thinking of painting our existing one.

Walls will be charcoal grey,solid oak floor.

Any suggestions gratefully received

I used a stone effect fireplace paint

It was extremely easy to do and has left my fireplace (looked just like yours) looking like a cream stone fireplace. I can highly recommend it.
