Artificial grass indoors?

I'm currently decorating my daughter's playroom and am going for a woodland theme on the walls. I'm keen to continue this theme with the flooring and so am considering using artificial grass on the floor over underlay just like a carpet.

After much searching I have tracked down a make of grass that I feel is soft enough for little hands and knees but am now having doubts as I'm wondering how on earth to clean it effectively!

Have any of you ever used artificial grass inside and if so what did you do to keep it in shape? Or do you just think this is a bonkers idea (my OH does 😏)?

I've searched everywhere for green carpet that looks a bit grasslike but no joy. Apparently there's not much call for bright green shaggy carpets (can't think why...). Help me please Mums netters!

Never done it but it sounds brilliant! Maybe have a look on Pinterest for any blogs linked to the pins. You might be able to get some info there.

You can get vinyl floor tiles printed with photo-realistic grass. Easier to clean up than artificial grass I imagine. I'm thinking of little toys (lego etc) getting stuck in the grass. I think Harvey Maria used to do some.

I did this a few years ago for my dds bedroom and it was a nightmare to clean.

In the end I got a bright green carpet and a couple of small flower shaped rugs which looked awesome.

You can vacuum it.

I discussed this with the installers when we had our outside done. They said it looked cool but they wouldn't recommend it as its a nightmare to keep clean inside

You don't stick it down to the underlay then just gather it up, take it outside and give it a shake!

Hey Abbinob - that's exactly the sort of thing I'm after. I just was hoping to get carpet rather than a rug so I can cover the whole room...hmm perhaps I can stick them together...😏

The room is around 10ft by 11ft, not huge but perhaps too big to completely fill with a rug though I'm determined to keep looking.

Marvellous - I love the look of the vinyl floor tiles. Very realistic. Might see if I can get a sample.

I was wondering about using a dust buster (remember them!) or something similar to vacuum it as there are no rotating parts to damage the grass. Do any of you vacuum your outside lawns? Appreciate though that it will take a while...

I have the green Ikea hampen rug in my lounge, it's £40 for the large - 160x230cm (£30 for the medium).

Maybe you could stick a couple of those together. I think I've seen this done and the effect is pretty seamless.

This site ssaya they do most of their rugs made to measure, info on the homepage think you have to email or call them, so maybe you could get a giant room sized rug?
Im sure other rug selling sites will do similar too
