IKEA Malm ?

Does anyone have this furniture? Looking to buy drawers for kids room. I'm looking for practical and deep drawers with plenty space, any reviews?

We don't have the drawer units as such but have the bed side cabinets and the bed. The drawers in the cabinet are a good size, and deep so I assume that the ones in the chest of drawers will be the same - importantly, they seem very strong and solid too.

We have two of the two-drawer chests, and a four drawer dresser. The are fine, perfectly functional, and of the usual middling quality of IKEA furniture. (Not being snobbish, we have IKEA pieces in every room.)

We have used the Kallax shelves with the 12x12x12-14" boxes for kids' clothing storage and have been quite pleased with that. There are a variety of boxes for individualizations purposes, and no fussy drawers.

We have quite a bit of MALM - two beds, two bedside tables, a four-drawer dresser and a six-drawer dresser. All oak veneer.

I like it - it looks clean and has plenty of space in the drawers. Easy for little children to open too. I'd recommend it.

We had the three drawer in the kids rooms, just sold as reorganised their rooms. Would recommend as strong and big drawers and can look good but fix to the wall. There's too many stories of kids pulling them on themselves, scares me silly.

Make sure they're attached to wall, especially in child's room. Notorious for tipping over, I'd top few drawers are out together, the slightest weight on them causes them to tip. Ikea sent out warning not so long ago to warn of potential hazard. Great storage though!!

I like them as they are just so practical. The drawers are sturdy and big.

We've got lots of malm too, it's easy to fix to the wall and good deep storage. If the kids are quite small, the stuva range is really easy for them to access on their own and gives you the option of a wardrobe with hangers too.

Ds has Malm 3 drawer chest. Its fine. Deep and wide. Functional. Plain. Sort of nondescript really.

Have had several 3,4 and 5 drawer chests, oak veneer, for about 8 years now, to store adult clothes, and they're still as good as new. They're very spacious, but I second the comment above about them being likely to tip forward if you open more than one full drawer at the same time. It's not really a problem though, but with children I'd definitely fix them to the wall.

I love my oak veneer 6-drawer Malm chest. I prefer the look to the plain white one (I have white Expedit / Kallax, but for some reason I'm not keen on white Malm - just my preference)

As pp say, the drawers are really deep but do attach the unit to the wall. I was advised to glue the bottom of the drawers in using bathroom sealant as they have a habit of falling out. It's working well so far.

Yy to the tipping issue, definitely make sure they're fixed to the wall. Otherwise they're good, nice big drawers and ours has lasted really well.

My bedroom is malm I have 2 bedside tables, the 5 drawers and the tall thin drawers with a pull up mirror....had them for 5.5 years and they are still in good nick
