style advice needed - plantation shutters

I'm planning on a house renovation next year and I am rather fancying plantation shutters on all the front facing windows of my house as we are badly overlooked. I love the style and clean line of plantation shutters but do also like the feel in a room of luxurious curtains.
Is it a style crime to have both - I'm thinking both purely for the living room?

Lots of houses near me have both, it looks lovely although costs a bomb!

i have both on 2 sets of french doors. I set i made a roman blind and the other see thru fabric hanging from loops on a rod. Both work well.

I have shutters & curtains, as have very high ceilings & large windows, felt it looked to bare with just shutters.
