What colour kitchen countertop?

We're finally doing our kitchen hurrah! But I don't have an eye for interior design and I find the choices bewildering.

We're having a painted kitchen - undecided on colour but light - with walnut accents around the extractor fan.

I like this floor www.amtico.com/flooring/stone/wave-slate-black--SS5S2602. I would love a silestone countertop - what colour would go well with the dark floor and light colour kitchen?

And if you can suggest shades for the kitchen, even better.

I like the flooring you've picked out, but be wary of using such a dark colour as dark colours (and light ones) really show every speck of dirt in the way a mid colour doesn't. A darker floor can also close the space down visually. If you go with a darker floor I would keep the worktop light - there's a silestone that looks like light grey marble that would look lovely. I think it depends what colour your cabinets are tbh.
