How do I decorate a toilet?

I'm in a rented house, which has toilet separate to rest of bathroom. Toilet very spartan, white walls, clean, but basically unexciting. I'm quite pregnant and spend a lot of time in there either with one end or the other Confused and would like to make it a bit more homely (is that weird).
But we're only likely to be in house till just past baby (3 months) as we're buying, and whilst landlord is great and happy with decorating etc. I don't really want to have to paint back with a newborn.
So...what would you do to make a hospital cubicle like toilet feel a bit more homely so when I'm crouching on the floor at 5am I feel a bit happier?

Hang a lovely painting in there and get a plant to liven things up a bit.

Hang a large picture frame above the cistern. Put in some plants - real or fake. If there is a sink then hang a decorative ikea mirror. If you want more you can get some wallsafe stickers or flowers or leave that you can peel off when you leave.

How about a large, soft bath rug, basket (weave or fabric) to store toilet paper plus pot plant and mirror as suggested by other posters?
