I am looking for a big price of art to go on the wall in my kitchen/diner. I had an idea. now please tell me if this is really tacky or otherwise. I want something original and a talking piece. I have seen big pictures which are made up of collages of photos. I thought something like that, a picture of a huge landscape, or still life, but look closer and it's made up of personal photos, children's art. Does that sound like it could turn out ok? I could probably do some sticky paper together myself but I don't have any sense of style or artistic touch. Is there a guide online anyway I could follow. Or any other inspiration welcome.
I was thinking of starting with a big frameless frame. And filling it.
Or maybe, has anyone just let children lose on big piece of paper with preferred colours and framed it for the modern art look?
I want something that means something.

Hi OP - I typed in 'Mosaic Photos' into my search engine and these links ^
are just a couple of quite a few that came up.
They show you stage by stage how to do mosaic/collage pics. Have a look and see what you think.

Thanks, mosaic, that's the word I was looking for!

I think that's a great idea for a kitchen diner, not tacky at all! I think some of the portrait/people pictures could appear a bit "fuzzy" so perhaps a landscape/countryside picture might better for the big main picture (I like the globe on the second link!) I wonder if you get to see your final pic made up before ordering? Go for it!
