Hi all,

Just bought a compete fixer upper so may be around here a bit. I am planning on going with an ikea kitchen (very budget constrained) and would love ideas for flooring (tile or wood colour) and walls (tile or paint/splashback). Its a bright but small kitchen (2.5m x 4m).

Thanks

PS - its this kitchen www.ikea.com/ie/en/products/kitchen-products/cabinet-doors-fronts-panels/bodbyn-door-grey-art-30221043/

You could get away with a bright pop of colour, such as lime green or orange, for the splash back. For something 'safer' dark red is another option. Floors I'd keep relatively neutral (oak colour, probably, to stop it all getting too dark).

I like the wooden floor and white metro tiles, seen in the second photo. I also think some mosaic tiles would be nice, either floor or as a splashback.

Just done ours with brilliant white walls, silver glass splash back and white ash floor with the same units looks brilliant

Thanks folks.

Shosha - white ash laminate? Any chance of a pic? It sounds lovely. I'm just a little afraid it will be too sterile or stark with white walls and fall (although that is my current preference).

My husband is totally against laminate in the kitchen so some persuasion may be required :-)
