upholstery fabric - recs please!

I'm at the point that if like to recover my dining room chairs. I was going to recover them in Laura Ashley Caitlyn Velvet but I've missed their sale, but at £50 a metre full price is a bit out of my range given I need 1.5 metres per chair. Does anyone have any good recommendations for suppliers/ websites for fabrics? There is so much choice and would be good to get a recommendation! Grateful thanks

I'd recommend eBay. I have bought all of our curtain/upholstery fabric from there, really lovely branded stuff like Sanderson, William Morris, Lee Joffa etc are generally about half the retail price. I tend to look for fabric I like then when I find a seller who stocks it, look trough their 'other items' for inspiration. Good luck!!
