Hey all
We currently live in an old bungalow which we bought a year ago and are now looking to do an extension and would really appreciate your opinions!
having lived in the space and explored the different alternatives we feel that our best option is to build an extension to the side of our house which would be the kitchen and open plan diner. There would then be double doors which open into our existing living room. The draw back is that access to the kitchen/diner would be through the living room.
Basically you would enter through the front door and off the hall is the door to the large living room. Directly opposite this door would be the door to the diner.
This would ensure the most cost effective build cost & minimise disruption to the existing house.
We're happy with this layout and feel that it would work for our (hopefully) expanding family but I was curious to know how many of you would be put off buying a house that had access to kitchen via the living room?
We may never sell but at the same time would like to ensure that any renovation work adds to the value of the house.
I'm usually very opposed to access via rooms but think this could work as it's all living space?
