White/neutral paint help! Will I regret Dulux Timeless?
Mrscog · 18/09/2015 09:30
So I thought I'd decided on Timeless for my bedroom after loads of good reviews on here. I've done a test patch on every wall of my room, and it looks lovely on all but one. On the 'north facing' wall which doesn't get any natural light it looks like a really cold blue. The rest of the room is going to be very white and neutral - oak bed frame, oak furniture, cream carpet, crisp white bedding, sandy coloured knitted throw and cushions to accessorise.
Will timeless do the job? I need to decide like TODAY! Also, what colour should I do all the woodwork? Should I also do that in satin timeless?

How does it look on the other walls? You could paint the lot and if it really doesn't work on that wall with everything else, paint that wall white or another colour in future. Or paint that wall white or something warmer toned now. Or choose something with a warmer tone for the whole room.

It looks really good on all the other walls. I've gone for it and bought it anyway - apparently it's a good colour for 'absorbing warmth' from wooden furniture so hopefully it will be ok. Fingers crossed!

Love the sound of your colour scheme
Just painted our living room with this. We've not moved the furniture back in as we're waiting for a carpet to be fitted, but I like it so far. It's creamier than the tester looked and I haven't found it to look blue at all. We decided to gloss all the woodwork in brilliant white and it's a nice contrast, whilst still looking neutral.
It's likely to look a bit different and warmer once your furniture is in and you have pictures/frames up on the walls anyway.

We've painted north facing rooms in timeless. I feel it absorbs the warmth from other stuff in the room and therefore love how it looks. Doesn't look blue to my eye at all (which brilliant white does), but that may be me.

Hmm, I've just painted my kitchen in Timeless and it's not even vaguely creamy-looking, it's come out a very slightly greyish white. I can't decide if I like it. I was planning to do my living room too but it's very dark and gloomy in there most of the time so now I'm not so sure!
