Storage bed for 10 yr old

Also, following on from my carpet queries....

DS2 will be 10 fairly soon and we're doing to be doing up his room for him. His room is pretty tiny, so I've been trying to think of ideas to give him more space. I like the look of this bed to give him more floor space but am slightly concerned he'd grow out of it pretty quickly. It's a great prove though:

Do you know of any other good space saving ideas or a better bed? I'm also thinking of taking his cupboard door off an replacing with a curtain.

My son has the Ikea Flaxa storage bed with 2 drawers underneath and additional storage headboard. It's great .

We have a kura, and I think at 10 he would outgrow it quickly, particularly if he's tall. The stura ones look nice, but I haven't seen them in rl yet- our ikea had none on display last time we went. They have a wardrobe underneath and you can have shelves or a desk too.

We went to a company on the web called Strictly Beds and bunks. On the cheaper end of the market but does it matter if he is going to outgrow it?
Not sure about their mattresses though
If you look up shorty beds on the web it flags companies that do odd size beds and or/with storage

We spent ages looking at every cabin bed on the market a couple of years ago. We ended up with a thuka but I'd worry a 10 year old would soon consider it naff. We saw a lot that didn't seem to have as much storage underneath as you'd think. Often only the near half of the underbed space is used, and there is a big gap underneath the far side.

I think a good option is a normal frame bed, with good clearance from the floor, and some really solid, enormous drawers on castors underneath. If you organise the drawers well they can hold a lot. Also put some shelves on his wall above his bed for books and gubbins.

An alternative to the curtain is a bifold door.

A good desk space elsewhere in the house would also help - one less thing to cram in!
