Which kitchen table surface?

Our kitchen is oak units with black granite worktops. What kitchen table would work best - an oak table or granite topped table? Both in terms of looks and practicality.

Oak would feel warmer, more homely imo plus no clattering of crockery and cutlery on the surface.

Do you think it would look too 'woody'?

No. Unless you've got oak flooring and oak cladding on the walls and ceiling!

I would go for oak. Much softer looking and easier to source too.
