Quartz worktops

I've got to pick a worktop for our new kitchen which is being fitted in a couple of weeks and I'm struggling to decide on the colour.

Our kitchen units will be white gloss with no handles apart from a run of tall units which will be a light grey wood grain ( to break up all the white and give a bit if texture and warmth)

We are having an amtico floor in welsh slate.

I can't decide between a grey quartz ( that looks like granite ) or a shiny black.

There will be a lot of work top including an island and I'm worried that black will be over powering with the dark slate floor.

Any tips?

My friend has black and it looks amazing but she hates it. Shows every little mark... especially water drops and smears so get a good e-cloth.

Thanks - maybe a mottled granite effect may hide the marks a bit more then.

Going off to make a decision and order it this morning.
