Our dining room floorboards need re-doing, which is going to be a springboard into re-decorating it, and I'm looking for inspiration, please!
Last time we did it, we were also using it for working at home, but now have a small study so it can really just be for dining. But it's a biggish room and also a thoroughfare. Has large table with extender for Christmas and big meals - an old sideboard we only recently sanded and painted, so keeping that. Cupboards in the alcoves with some (eminently charity-shoppable, IMO) books on shelves above. French doors take up a lot of the back wall: it's quite a sunny room. Has been white with floorboards for a long time, but has become just the place where washing gets folded and meals are eaten about four times a week (there's a little table in the kitchen which can seat 2 and is used for breakfast as we're never all eating breakfast at the same time). It's a bit of a repository for crap really. Also has armchair which looks a bit random at the moment.
I really want it to look nice and interesting - as it's at the end of the hall, it's the first room you see when you open the front door, and it's a bit dull and crap at the moment.
Could you tell me what you use yours for, what you keep there and what you store there? And what farrow and ball colour(s) it is? TIA!
