Moving from beige to grey

We have just moved into a house with a beige carpet. We have coffee sofas which need replacing. Our furniture is in different woods; oak (real) and dark walnut. All warm neutrals.

I really want to bring grey into the colour palette but wondering if I can make grey sofas work with the beige carpet. The walls are easy to paint but are currently magnolia.

Would you?

Yes! And I have - also inherited a beige carpet, and I use lots of grey. Obviously, be more careful with blue- or lilac-toned greys, though. Greeny greys and griege would be easy, as would a very strong dark grey (Little Greene Teal Grey or F&B Downpipe?)

I love greige! I have grey wood floors and a grey sofa, with cream rugs and white & hessian cushions. It looks fresh and light and slightly boaty / beachy paired with darker wood furniture.

Greige? DH is going to love that! Grin

Thanks for paint tips.

My current accent colours are green, cream and a random navy chair so that would all work together.
