Just swooned at John Lewis' prices and wondering if anyone can make my day by telling me Dunelm Mill or any other cheaper brands are just as well made and reliable.

Also don't like any of JL's kids' curtain designs - suggestions for really nice ones? I cannot use a sewing machine to save my life so please don't suggest making my own!

I've just bought dunelm ones for my new house- haven't used then yet but held them up to a window in my current place and was really impressed with how dark they made the room. They aren't as heavy as I was expecting but that doesn't seem to be an issue in determining te darkness that they create. I will know more after we move next Friday!!!

I got my DSs blackout from Dunelm - £20 if I remember correctly & it's fab..

Had one from b&q before that & never again!

We used blackout linings that hung on the existing curtain hooks behind the curtains. think they were from dunelm too

Ds currently have a pair of Dunelm blackout curtains and they're great. I dislike the stiff curtains they had before (from Very if I remember correctly) and these are more fluid. Definitely black out all the light though. Also bought a pair in the Next sale but don't like those as much.

Thanks for replies. I chose basic blackout blinds from ikea in the end but still looking for curtains to dress window nicely for DS. I guess they don't need to be blackout curtains as we'll have the blinds. Any nice ones anyone can recommend?

I'd hold off making a final decision until the blind is up. We've got blackout blind and blackout curtains together to catch as much of the stray edge rays as possible...

We just bought these blackout curtains for our boys room from amazon. Can't believe how good they are for such a low price. Also bought different way more expensive ones for our room and they are rubbish compared to these. Hope the link works on phone.
