We've got a room that we're finally clearing of junk! and changing into a living room but more aimed at adults versus our other tv/toy/sofa with lots pillows for dens area.
I am a bit clueless about interior design. We've got as far as we're putting in a stove with black hearth and white agean stone mantle. The carpet is a pale beige. At the moment the walls are in dulux timeless. So basically white like the rest of the house!
I'd like to inject some grown up colour to be calming/sophisticated. I know greys are popular but I think I prefer the more red/yellowly tones. I have been looking at colours like dulux Labrador 6, Egyptian cotton, nutmeg white, f&b hardwick white and stony ground. Can you recommend any colours and what shades can we use to have an obvious colour (rather than off white) but no too dark in a north facing roughly 14&16 foot room? Bearing in mind that we are used to all whites!
