I love big, rustic, country kitchens. Big wooden table, odd collection of chairs, Aga or an open fire, big dresser full of mismatched ceramic ware. Vases of blowsy flowers on deep window sills... All very twee but it's my dream.

I love the Plain English as well - but they are expensive. I remember over 20 years ago when they started up, they were featured in one of the glossy magazines I used to buy - they started up their own business because they couldn't find a well made, wooden kitchen that was reasonably priced - now they are so successful they are not reasonably priced any more! So much for that idea then.................

We are building ours now. Range cooker, Belfast sink, American fridge/freezer, 2 x 1.2 m island in the centre. Going for off white shaker style with a granite top. Can't wait.

I know it's not very grand in size, considering money's no object, but I'd quite like to be able to fit it in my house, you know Wink

White gloss units, white corian work tops, big larder, no wall units as I hate them, white walls and floor, huge window. It is so bright and light even in mid winter.

I hate hand painted/shaker, etc kitchens

Sounds lovely. Definitely the kind of kitchen I would want too. Hate the modern kitchens - they make me think of operating rooms. Hmm

Hermione, I really love Image 4 on that site. The green formica worktop - genius Smile

I also love industrial style kitchens. Country kitchen wouldn't suit our house.

I love clean lines, gloss units, intergrade appliances... Designing ours ready for the end of the year, Have gone for gloss cashmere units and chocolate granite with flecks of gold countertops. and intergrade appliances, still need to choose splash back and ceramic tiles, just work better with the rest of the house. Also love minimalistic kitchens hate seeing toasters, mini ovens, those cup holders and foil holders bread bins ect on counter tops, just my nespresso and kettle on it and that is it..

We are in the middle of designing one (paper exercise) for when we finally move into our new house.
I have been given free reign on the choice of kitchen, so we are having white shaker cabinets and butchers block worktop, double Belfast sink with a Quooker tap attached, American FF. built in appliances (double oven, dishwasherand integrated hob)and an island if the space is there. Oh also my favourite thing is a built in coffee machine space with a draw and shelves for cups/pods etc. (magnet do it as part of their kitchens)
Also, deep drawers (oo-er) for pans and big items.
I also want to create a small pantry if we can.
Just need to figure out colour schemes for walls/tiles/floor now.
